David Welsh is at once an impressive real estate professional AND a "salt of the earth" kind of guy. He is so committed to our land and loves helping others see the beauty and the joy of owning land in Western North Carolina. With his experience and his knowledge he has sold hundreds of acres of land in this area.

David grew up in a very small town in rural New Jersey. He graduated from high school there and then graduated from Morris County College with a degree in Computer Technology. He worked in the field of technology for several years and then one day made a life changing decision. He left his job, bought a van and traveled the whole United States for nine months searching for the special place that "just felt right." In 1987, that search ended in Western North Carolina. He felt this area had everything……..the mountains, the nice city of Asheville surrounded by several wonderful small towns and especially the breathtakingly beautiful rural lands that are such an integral part of the tapestry of his very being. This area has also provided the perfect point for staying connected with his parents as they travel back and forth between their homes in New Jersey and Florida.

David has back packed all over the United States and when he first moved here he had a total lifestyle change from his previous world of technology when he bought a farm. He became a cattle farmer and also made and sold organic salsa which was certified by the State and was FDA approved.

When David began his real estate career several years ago he became deeply involved in serving his local real estate Board; the Asheville Board of Realtors. He has held several positions at the Board including, Treasurer, Secretary, President of ABR Services, and IT Chair.

He has also been a very active volunteer for years in his local elementary school system. His wife Norma is an Asheville native and is a kindergarten school teacher. Dave and Norma enjoy the WNC quality of life with their four children who are ages twelve to sixteen. For relaxation Dave is an avid lake fisherman; fishing for trout, small mouth bass and walleye.In addition to his land sales expertise David is also highly skilled and knowledgeable in the residential market working with both buyers and sellers.
