Stan and Doris Longworth have been a fabulous team for years in both life AND business.                                                   

 

Stan was born the son of a coal miner in Kentucky who left that profession when Stan was five years old and relocated the family to Indiana. Always a high achiever; Stan had a successful 23 year career in the U.S. Marine Corp and is a retired Captain. Throughout his life he has always been a stellar student and earned a BA in Business from National University in San Diego.

 

Doris’ beginnings were in the state of Missouri but life eventually led her to San Diego where she met Stan after his retirement from the Marine Corp and they both ended up enjoying 20+ highly successful years in the Financial Securities profession, mostly as part of the prestigious Merrill Lynch organization.

 

Stan was a Financial Advisor and also became a member of the elite Southeast Region management team. Doris was also a Financial Advisor and her people skills led her to becoming an award winning Service/Operations Manager and Compliance Manager; handling four to ten offices at any given time. Promotions led them to Illinois and then on to Colombia, South Carolina. A visit to friends in Asheville changed everything when Doris fell in love with the mountains of western North Carolina.

 

They began their real estate career in Asheville and their combined years of business experience and financial expertise is a definite advantage for their real estate clients. This is a couple that you meet and in no time you’ll feel like you’ve known them forever. There will be no doubt in your mind that you not only have met a highly skilled couple; but a couple who indeed are the epitome of honesty and integrity and are earnest and sincere about providing you with the utmost in professional service to help you achieve your real estate goals. Staying abreast of the ever changing real estate industry through education, Doris has earned the GRI professional designation, the E-PRO designation and advanced IT computer certification training.

 

On a personal note the Longworths love to travel when time allows and appreciate the opportunities they have had to visit Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Great Britain, Scotland, France and Italy. Doris is somewhat of a “handy Andy” and loves gardening and yard work, home rehabbing (from laying bricks to crown molding), sewing and playing racquetball. She is also an avid animal lover and is an active supporter of the Asheville Humane Society.

 

Stan’s favorite things are sailing, traveling and racquetball. He is a highly committed member of a philanthropic organization called The International Order of the Blue Gavel. This is a world wide organization of past yacht club commodores who raise money for many good works, with the main one being the International Bone Marrow Program. They procure funds to provide bone marrow tests and to find and match bone marrow donors with recipients.
